Basic Wrike Navigation and Setup for IT Managers
This article covers some basic navigation and setup tips for IT Managers.
Basic Navigation & Features
Quick Links, Filters, and Project Widgets
- Quick Links has helpful links to Wrike resources and a link to the IT Project Request Form to request a new project.
- ScreenSteps Guides has links to all of the available CSUF user guides for Wrike.
- The filters at the top of the dashboard can be used to narrow down the results you see in each widget on this page. For example, selecting Matt Badal as Project Sponsor, you will see all projects that have Matt as the project sponsor on the dashboard,
- Projects Pending Approval shows any projects that have been submitted but have not yet been approved to start. This is an easy way to tell if your new project has been approved.
- Active Projects by Project Sponsors shows all of the projects for each project sponsor.
- Active Project Count - Division Goals shows the number of projects associated with each division goal.
Additional Widgets
- Status of Active Projects shows the number of active projects in either the Approved - Ready to Start status or In Progress status.
- Number of Projects that Impact the Campus shows the number of projects that impact specific segments of the campus population or all of the campus population.
- Active Projects - Division Goals & Strategies shows each of the individual projects associated with division goals.
- Active Projects - Status Updates shows all of the active projects along with the current Project Updates.
3. The My Projects view shows you all projects where you are the Assignee.
Assignee/Owner = the person responsible for adding updates to the Project Updates field. This person must have a licensed Wrike account and will receive Wrike notifications for the project.
Project Sponsor = the senior leadership manager who is responsible for the project. All senior leadership managers have licensed Wrike accounts.
IT Project Coordinator = the subject matter expert(s) for the project. A licensed Wrike account is not necessary; this is mostly an informational field.
You will receive notifications from Wrike in the app, regardless of your email notification settings. Some of the notifications may be duplicates of what you receive via email.
1. Click on Inbox in the left navigation menu.
When you have a new notification in Wrike, you will see a red dot with a number next to the Inbox at the top of the left navigation menu.
Basic Setup
3. Under Task, Project, and Folder Updates, place checkmarks to indicate when you want to receive email notifications. Click Save Changes
You may want to start out with all options selected to get a feel for how often you receive emails from Wrike. You can then uncheck options to stop receiving specific types of notifications.
