Awakening and logging in to the Interactive Digital Display

This article will show you how to log in to the Interactive Digital Display using the Teacher Monitor. The login is the same as you use for any classroom and campus computer. Both students and faculty are able to login to the Teacher Monitor.

1. With the computer on, press Ctrl + Alt + Del.

Tip: This is one way to "awaken" the Interactive Digital Display. Another way is to simply touch the Interactive Digital Display with your finger or one of the styluses.

Control Alt Delete key pressed simultaneously

2. If you are not the last user on this computer, click on Other user (if this option is displayed).

Other user is selected

3. Enter your CSUF log on as you would for your own faculty computer with your username and password.

4. You are now logged in.

Tip: If you want to prevent students in the room from seeing what you are doing, you can toggle between Duplicate and Second Screen Only. Duplicate means that the Interactive Digital Display shows exactly the same thing as on your Teacher Monitor. Second Screen Only will allow you to use the Teacher Monitor to look at any sensitive information without it displaying on the Interactive Digital Display.

Windows 11 Desktop is displayed

5. Use Windows + p to toggle the screen choices menu.

The two choices you may want to toggle between are Duplicate and Second Screen Only.

Duplicate shows the exact same image on the Interactive Digital Display as it does on your Teacher Monitor.

Second Screen Only typically allows you to view the computer on the Teacher Monitor without anything being displayed on the Interactive Digital Display. Use this feature, if you want to keep what you are viewing private (such as for grades, comments, or other confidential information).

Options include: PC screen only, Duplicate, Extend, and Second screen only

Windows 11

The Interactive Digital Display uses Windows 11. If you need a primer on Windows 11, take a look at this LinkedIn course (you will need to login with your CSUF credentials):
