How to Enable Meeting Summary with Zoom AI Companion
This article covers how faculty, staff, and students can enable Meeting Summary with Zoom AI Companion in the Zoom web application and turn on this feature during Zoom meetings.
1.1. Log in to the CSUF Zoom web application.
Refer to the Activating Your Zoom Account and Logging into Zoom guide.
1.4. Under the Meeting section, click the toggle next to Meeting Summary with AI Companion to turn on this feature.
1.5. Optional: Check the box next to Automatically start Meeting Summary for all meetings I host to have Meeting Summary generation automatically start for meetings you host.
- Check the box next to Automatically start Meeting Summary for all meetings I host
- Click Save
- Turning on this feature does not require the host to be present, as the Meeting Summary generation will begin as soon as someone starts your meeting.
- If you want to enable the automatic Meeting Summary option only for certain Zoom meetings, it can also be changed in the Settings of each meeting.
If you do not see the AI Companion icon on the Zoom in-meeting controls, refer to step 1 of this guide on how to enable this function in your Zoom web settings.
2.1. Meeting Summary with AI Companion needs to be turned on for each meeting that you host, unless this feature has been set to start automatically in Zoom settings.
- Click the AI Companion icon on the Zoom in-meeting controls
- Click Start Summary
- Only the meeting host and co-host can start or stop the meeting summary through the in-meeting controls.
- Meeting summary begins when the host clicks Start summary, or if the host has enabled the web setting to automatically start Meeting summary.
Other Zoom AI Companion features, including Meeting Questions, Smart Recording and Whiteboard Content Generation can also be enabled in the AI Companion Settings in the Zoom web application.
