Students: Enrolling in Duo 2FA

This article covers what students need to do in order to complete the phone number and off-campus email verification process in order to enroll in Duo 2FA.

1. When you log in to the campus portal, you will see a Duo enrollment screen. Choose either Confirm my Cell Number Now or Don't have cell phone?

You will be able to skip this process just once by clicking Skip once for now. Take me to the portal.

Remember that the cell phone should be your own because you will need it with you each time you sign in to the campus portal starting October 1st.

Great! Follow the steps below to enroll in Duo with your current cell phone number.

1. Click Confirm my Cell Number Now.

2. First, verify your identity by entering your Last Name, Date of Birth, Home ZIP Code, and EITHER the last four digits of SSN or your CSUF registration PIN. Then click Submit.

  1. Enter your Last Name.
  2. Enter your Date of Birth. Be sure to follow the same format as the example!
  3. Enter your Home ZIP code. If you are an international student, leave this blank.
  4. Enter EITHER the last four digits of your Social Security Number (SSN) OR your CSUF registration PIN.
  5. Click Submit.
3. Verify or enter your current cell number. Then click Confirm and Save My Cell Number.

  1. Verify the cell phone number listed. If the field is blank or the cell number is incorrect, enter your current cell phone number.
  2. Click Confirm and Save My Cell Number.
  3. Note if you accidentally got to this screen but do not have a cell number, you can click Don't have a cell phone?
4. Review your personal email and resources on this screen. You can bookmark the resources for later if you wish. Then click Go to Portal. You're done!

Personal email is important because this allows Duo to send you a one-time passcode if you do not have access to your cell phone. If you want to change your personal email now, view instructions on how to update it on the portal.

  2. Click Add or modify your personal email address by following these instructions for instructions on how to update your personal email in the portal.
  3. Click Go to Portal when you are finished.

You will need to work with the Student IT Help Desk to find the best Duo option for you.

2. Plan to contact the Student IT Help Desk to complete your Duo setup. Review your personal email and resources on this screen. Then click Go to Portal.

Be sure to reach out to the Student IT Help Desk at StudentITHelpDesk@fullerton.edu or 657-278-8888 ASAP. If you do not follow up with them, you may be locked out of the portal in October.
