Requesting a One-time Bypass Code for Duo
This article covers how faculty and staff can request a one-time bypass code for Duo in case you don't have your 2FA device with you. You should get this bypass code before attempting to log in to the portal or Global Protect VPN as you will need to have it ready to enter.
You need to have already provided an off campus email address in your portal settings. If you need help doing so, view the article on how to Update Your Off Campus Email.

What's the difference?
Generally, there are fewer steps to request a bypass code using the Duo Devices Management page.
1. Open your browser to the CSUF homepage and click Portal for Students, Faculty and Staff.

- Open your browser to the CSUF homepage.
- Then click on Portal for Students, Faculty and Staff.
5. Enter your campus username and password. Place a checkmark next to I'm not a robot. Then click Login.
You may also be prompted to complete a captcha verification after clicking on I'm not a robot.

- Then click Login.
7. Check your off campus email for an email from [email protected] with your one-time code.

2. Enter your campus username and password. Place a checkmark next to I'm not a robot. Then click Login.
