Changing Your Campus Password on a Campus Mac

This quick guide covers how faculty and staff with a rollout Mac laptop can change their password and ensure that they can use the new password to log in to their Mac.

NOTE: You must know your current password in order to follow these instructions. If you are locked out of your account or do not know your current password, please contact your Department IT Coordinator (usually the department office manager) to have them reset your password.

1. Use the Employee Change Password application to change your password.

It is not recommended that you directly change your password on your Mac to avoid synchronization and keychain issues.

2. Plug your Mac into a wired connection (an active data jack on campus).

Need a wired connection? Visit the Academic Technology Center in the Pollak Library South room 237.

In order to sync your new campus login password with your Mac, you will need to come to campus and use a wired connection to update your Mac login password to match your new campus password.

2.1. Click on the password key icon in the menu bar and then select Reconnect.

Don't see the password icon? Visit the Academic Technology Center in PLS-237 or contact the IT Help Desk at 657-278-7777.
