Wi-Fi Calling for iPhone Users
This article illustrates how to enable Wi-Fi Calling on an iPhone.
In areas where the cellular signal is weak, Wi-Fi Calling can be used to overcome the lack of signal to make calls.
When connected to Wi-Fi calling, your iPhone may not receive emergency alerts.
1. Tap Settings.
2. Tap Cellular.
3. (OPTIONAL) If you have multiple SIMs, select the one for which you want to enable Wi-Fi Calling.
4. Tap Wi-Fi Calling.
5. Toggle the slider next to Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone. Then, tap Enable.
- Toggle on Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone.
- The Enable Wi-Fi Calling prompt will open. Tap Enable.
6. Tap Update Emergency Address if you need to set or enter your location for emergency services.
6.1. Tap Change Address.
6.2. Enter your current location. Then, tap Verify Address.
- Enter your address.
- Tap Verify Address.
6.3. If prompted, select the correct address format. Then, tap Use this address.
- Select an address.
- Tap Use this address.
7. When Wi-Fi Calling is enabled, you will see "Wi-Fi" next to the name of your carrier at the top of your phone screen. Proceed to make your call as you usually would.
If your wi-fi call isn't going through, try putting your phone on Airplane Mode.
