Wi-Fi Calling for Android Users
This article covers how to enable Wi-Fi Calling on Android phones.
In areas where the cellular signal is weak, Wi-Fi Calling can be used to overcome the lack of signal to make calls.
Note that these instructions were performed on a Samsung Galaxy S24 phone. The steps for your device should be similar; if you experience issues, look up the Wi-Fi calling guide for your specific phone or wireless carrier.
Some of these steps only work on Android 6.0 and up.
1. Tap the Phone icon.
2. Tap the three dots menu.
3. Then tap Settings.
4. Tap the slider button next to Wi-Fi Calling to enable it.
If you do not see this option, that means that your carrier (e.g., Verizon AT&T, etc) does not support the feature or you must contact your carrier to enable it.
5. To update your emergency address, tap Wi-Fi Calling.
E911 provides a location for your phone when you call 911 emergency services.
5.1. Tap Emergency Address.
5.2. Enter your current location. Then tap to agree to the terms and conditions.
- Enter your address.
- Then tap to agree to the terms and conditions.
5.3. Tap Save to save your changes.
6. Wi-Fi Calling is now enabled.
7. Make your phone call as usual. When you are using Wi-Fi for the call, you will see "Wi-Fi call" appear above the call information.
If your wi-fi call isn't going through, try putting your phone on Airplane Mode.
