Using Duo Security to Access Campus Resources
Duo is the two-factor authentication (2FA) service CSUF is using to secure login attempts to various campus services and applications. Duo Two-factor authentication (2FA) has different methods to authenticate you. These methods vary depending on which devices (if any) you have added to your account. This article describes the steps to authenticate using Duo with each method.
1. At the portal login screen, enter your username and password
2. Select the authentication method you wish to use
You need to have already installed the Duo Mobile app and added to your account. View article on adding a mobile device to Duo.
3.1. The Push will be sent to your default mobile phone. Check your phone and tap Approve
3.2. You are done. Check your computer screen, you will be signed in to the portal
Duo security is enabled for the portal log in from off campus and campus wireless network. If you haven't added your mobile phone to your Duo account it will ring on your office extension. To add your mobile phone, view article on adding a mobile device to Duo.
4.1. Your mobile phone will ring, answer the call, listen to the message, and on the keypad press 1
4.2. You are done. Check your computer screen, you will be signed in
The Passcode can originate from three sources: the Duo Mobile app, Text (SMS) message, or a keychain fob
