Saving Zoom Recordings to Your CSUF Dropbox Account
This article covers how CSUF faculty, staff, and students can save their Zoom recordings to their CSUF Dropbox account.
Note that Zoom cloud recordings are automatically deleted after 14 days.
The option to automatically save Zoom cloud recordings to Dropbox has been discontinued as of February 2024.

What would you like to do?
You can change your Zoom settings to automatically save your local recordings to a folder in your CSUF Dropbox account. You can also enable a setting that prompts you to choose a location for your local recording at the end of the meeting.
You will need to have the Zoom desktop client and Dropbox app installed on your computer.
Downloading the Zoom Desktop Client
How to download and install the Dropbox desktop app on your computer
1. Open your Zoom desktop client. Click on your profile button and then select Settings.
- Click on your profile button in the Zoom desktop client.
- Then select Settings.
2. Select Recording.
3. To change where your local recordings are saved, click Change.
3.1. Navigate to your Dropbox (CSU Fullerton) folder and click on it to show the folders in it. Select the folder where you want to store your local Zoom recordings. Then click OK.
Click Make New Folder if you want to create a new folder for the recordings.
- Navigate to your Dropbox (CSU Fullerton) folder and click on it to show the folders in it.
- Select the folder where you want to store your Zoom recordings. You can select any folder in your Dropbox account; you don't have to call it Zoom.
- Then click OK.
4. If you want to select a location for your local recordings after each meeting, place a checkmark next to Choose a location for recorded files when the meeting ends.
4.1. When your meeting ends, you will automatically be prompted to select where you want to save the recorded files. Choose Dropbox (CSU Fullerton) and then create or select the folder where you want to save the files.
5. Click the x to close the Settings. Any changes you made have been saved.
You can download cloud recordings from your Zoom web portal and save the recorded files to your CSUF Dropbox account.
Note that depending on how long your recording is, it may take some time after your meeting ends before the cloud recording is available.
1. Log in to the Zoom web portal.
2. Select Recordings from the left menu.
4. Click Download.
5. If prompted, click Download again.
6. Locate the files on your computer. Most of the time, you can find the files in your Downloads folder.
7. You can drag and drop the files to a folder in your Dropbox (CSU Fullerton) folder if you have the Dropbox desktop app installed. Or upload them to your Dropbox using Dropbox on the web.
