Completing Automox Installation on Your Campus Mac

This article covers the additional pop-ups that campus Mac users may see when the Automox app is installed for the first time.

Automox is an app that allows campus IT to send important security updates to your computer.

1. Prior to the Automox automatic installation, you will see a pop-up message letting you know the installation will start within 30 minutes. Click OK to acknowledge the message.

2. Click the x when you see the Managed Login Items Added message.

This pop-up is letting you know that Automox is about to be installed.

3. When prompted, enter your campus username and password. Then click Allow.

This pop-up is allowing Automox to be installed.

  1. Enter your campus username and password.
  2. Then click Allow.

4. Click Allow when prompted that "amagent" would like to administer your computer.

This pop-up will allow the Automox (amagent) to send future updates to your computer.

4.1. Or if prompted, enter your campus password. Then click Unlock.

  2. Then click Unlock.

5. You're done!

Your Mac will now receive important security updates from campus IT through the Automox app.
