Cookie Consent on CSUF Websites
This article explains the cookie consent messages that appear on CSUF websites and how to adjust your cookie settings.
About cookies on campus websites
When you visit a campus website after September 21, 2026, you may see a pop-up at the bottom of the page asking you to accept cookies or select your cookie preferences.
Enabling analytical cookies helps the university assess website traffic to continually improve navigation, accessibility, and online services for the CSU community.
How It Works
- Frequency: You will see the banner once per year on each browser and device unless you clear your browser cache/cookies.
- Defaults: Closing the banner or selecting Accept All enables all cookies.
- Managing Preferences: You can update your choices at any time by selecting the Cookie Settings button in the website footer to enable or disable nonessential cookies.
- Shared Computers: If you are using a public computer at a public lab or kiosk, you will be prompted to adjust your cookie settings at the start of your session.
What are my choices?
- Accept All Cookies - allows all of the cookies to be enabled
- X - closes the pop-up and allows all of the cookies to be enabled
- Reject All - does not allow any of the cookies (other than those that are strictly necessary)
- Cookie Settings - lets you review all of the cookies and choose which to allow
- Click the plus sign icon to expand each cookie category and view information about it. Clicking Cookies Details will detail the specific cookies that are in the category.
- To disable a cookie category, click the slider button next to it.
- Click Reject All to disable all of the cookie categories other than Strictly Necessary Cookies.
- Click Confirm My Choices to save your changes.
