Changing Your Microsoft Profile Picture

Learn how to change your profile picture for Microsoft applications. This photo will be applied to Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.

1. Open Outlook on the Web (OWA). Then, click on your avatar (initials/picture) in the top right corner of the window.

2. Hover over the avatar next to your name. Click the camera icon.

If you don't see the camera icon, refer to the steps on updating your profile picture when the camera icon isn't visible.

3. Upload or drag and drop your photo. Adjust the size, if necessary. Then, click Apply.

GIF and HEIC are not supported image formats.

Change your photo window
  1. Click Upload a new photo to select a photo.
    OR
  2. Drag and drop your photo into the circle.
  3. Use the slider to make your photo bigger or smaller.
  4. Click Apply to update your photo.

4. Click Done to save your photo.

It may take a few moments for your photo to update across all platforms.

Can't see the camera icon?

View instructions on how to update your photo when the camera icon is missing

1. Click View Account.

2. Click the pencil icon next to your initials/picture.

3. Drag and drop your photo into the window or upload a file.

  1. Drag and drop your photo into the circle.
    OR
  2. Click Add a photo to select a photo to upload.

4. Resize, rotate, change, or delete your photo as you wish. Then, click Save.

It may take a few moments for your photo to update.

  1. Click Zoom, then use the slider to make your photo bigger or smaller.
  2. Click Rotate, then use the slider to rotate your photo clockwise or counterclockwise.
  3. Click Change photo to select a different photo.
  4. Click Remove photo to delete the photo.
  5. Click Save to update your photo.
