Data Security Introduction and FERPA (Module 1)
This guide covers tips and topics related to Data Security Introduction and FERPA Module 1 (also referred to as DSP Module 1).
This training will take approximately 20-25 minutes.
For successful completion of online training, it is recommended to:
- Use the Chrome browser
- Clear your Cache and Cookies
- Leave your training windows open during training

Taking the training
Step 1:
The Data Security Introduction and FERPA Module 1 training consists of two required sections:
- Mobile Devices and Third-Party Websites
- Protecting Student Privacy/FERPA
Step 2:
Each section will begin with a Start Module button.
Step 3:
After completing both modules, click NEXT to review and acknowledge the CSU Access and Compliance form.
Step 4:
The second to last slide will prompt you to check the box for acknowledgment.
Step 5:
Upon checking the box, the screen will refresh to display a link that you need to select to finalize the course and receive credit for completion.
Step 6:
A new window will open with the CSUF login screen and a pop-up window acknowledging you completed the training.
Click CLOSE to exit the training.
Confirmation of Completion
You will receive an automated Completion Notification from CSULearn via email.
